OUGD404 - A study in colour

In the lessons where we were being taught about colour, it was amazing to find out how differently we can perceived different colours when side by side with other colours.

Contrast of Tone -

depending on where the colours are in the spectrum depends how much they contrast in tone, darker colours have a higher contrast than lighter ones.

Contrast ofTemperature -

Some colours are considered to be warm of cold colours, the worm colours include. reds, yellows and oranges. They give of a much more bright vivid impression where as the cold colours a much calmer neutral feel they consist of purples, greens and blues.

Contrast by saturation -

This includes light and dark values of relevant saturation, although all the colours are different your eye tends to see a much smoother transition between each colour, especially on the lighter colours like yellow.

 Contrast of extension -

This is about proportional values of colours, you can see how proportion effects the eye on the colour of the proportion that is the smallest.

Contrast of Hue -

this is made by juxtaposing different hues. The greater the distance between hues on a colour wheel, the greater the contrast.
