OUGD 504 - InDesign workshop

In this weeks session we were told to look at an indesign document and figure out what problems the document had, there were eight to find.

  • The background colour is not set to the same as the documents so the bleed wont work when it comes to printing.
  • The tree image is not linked to the file, when it comes to print the image wont be printed because the application wont be able to find the file.
  • There is an RGB colour mode in the document.
  • Extra unnecessary colours have been added of different shades.
  • The image is much smaller than the rest with a lower image resolution.
  • Third image of bird is in RGB colour mode.
  • Dimensions of the first bird are really large.
  • The type on the third page should be in black.
By using photoshop we could determine colour modes and resolution of pictures, we could also find information out about the images by using the links panel in indesign.
